Stage 1 Lesson 1

October 8, 2010
By

Thursday night was our first lesson in the Stage 1 and although we were a little nervous it went really well and many thanks to all those who attended.  We have a great friendly bunch, and if anyone would like to still join us, we do have three places left.  Just drop us a line, or phone and we ll be able to fit you in!  Dont worry about being behind we have different options available to catch up including some one to one work. All the feedback  from the night was positive which was brilliant, thank you to those who left messages on Facebook!

Everyone worked really hard and produced good pieces of sawing.  These will then go on to form several pieces of jewellery, and many of the skills needed to produce beautiful pieces of jewellery will be learned in the next 8 weeks.

See you all next week, looking forward to it!  Janet

      Hi Pam
The afternoon course starts on Tuesday 19th October (next wk!) 12.30 – 15.00, you should definately come along, it’s good fun. We had our second class last night, teaching people to solder and put texture onto their work using hammers. One student was curling and doming by the end of the class creating her own design, again we were really please with the progress everyone made!
      Cheers

Well if you were nervous I couldn’t tell. I had a great time only got told off a few times – which is good for me! :) Very friendly and helpful bunch of people. Looking forward to the next class as I have loads of ideas, I just need the skills to put them into practice and I’m in the right place to learn them.

    Many thanks

    Carol

You were nervous? I wasn’t!! Well maybe a little.

I enjoyed it too and was really pleased with the progress everyone made. It’s amazing how talented people are, you just don’t know until you try something new, maybe I will have to try enamelling, I’ve always fancied that!

Supporting what Janet said I would just like to urge anyone thinking of trying Silver Smithing to give it a go, it’s not as hard as you might think and the students in our first group are all friendly, it’s a good group of people. Also for those of you still working out which direction to take in life career wise, it can lead to further study and even University!

    See you next week folks
    Delia
